Happy happy Friday!
After over a week of non-stop-sunshine I can’t help but feel happy and hopeful for the season ahead. I know we’ll inevitably go back to a little cold and grey but we now have some sunny reserves to draw from and Spring is well and truly underway!
It’s the eve of International Women’s Day - the annual day on 8th of March where we celebrate women and how far we’ve come. In global news of late, it feels the opposite is happening but we simply have to keep going! For ourselves and the girls growing up behind us. I admire all the women in my life and so grateful for this community that is also largely female. Here’s to all of you!
In this week’s edition, I share 6 things I’m loving, from my Oscars best dressed to my fave new collab - PJs that are comfy and chic!; to skincare that works! We also round up 8 things to do with your girlfriends in the coming weeks to celebrate female friendship.
Finally, I answer this week’s Ask Me Anything question - all about my favourite foliage to arrange with and my favourite scents.
If you’re feeling a Spring in your step after all this early seasonal sunshine, do try my ‘garden in a glass’ vase arrangement (see my YouTube how-to below).
Happy Friday!

6 things I’m loving…
1. Mimosa for international women’s day (or any day!)
Mimosa is the official flower of International Women’s Day - it’s origin stemming from the feminist movement in Italy in the 1940s and has become the symbol of solidarity for the women’s movement globally. Representing resistance and resilience, mimosa adorned the lapels and hair of women advocating for their rights. Its vibrant yellow blooms served as a beacon of hope in the fight for equality.
Mimosa also represents sunshine and is always a welcome burst of colour at the end of the wintery months. She can be very pretty on her own in bud vases and posies but my favourite way to flower with mimosa is to create an arrangement with lots other bright coloured seasonal flowers like poppies, tulips, hyacinths, paper whites, narcissi, ranunculus and lilac.
And of course, if you can’t find mimosa don’t worry, spread joy to the women and girls in your life this weekend with any flowers (try my supermarket bought tulip elevation into a beautiful bouquet wrapped in paper with a bow here).
2. A podcast interview with me
It was great fun to sit down to chat with Polly Ingestre (AKA CV Lady UK) to discuss how I started to create flowers for a living and the journey here, including my studies and work in fashion, beauty, styling and writing. On reflecting with Polly, I realise that you have lots of choice in the creative industry and can also change careers at any point. The dream is to do what you love and I think the the trick is resilience and hard work, and a little dreaming! And I love the saying - ‘Work hard and be nice to people’!
3. The Magic of Flowers for Spring!
A really beautiful flowery trick - a garden in a glass vase in my third episode of The Magic of Flowers over on YouTube. I hope you’re enjoying them and please do subscribe to be the first to know about our my new video tutorials. And do let me know what you’d love to see me create next?
