Snowdrops are here, Nashville highlights & faking my glow...
This week I returned from Nashville with a little spring in my cowboy boots, so despite a whirlwind trip and a little jet lag, my faith in the power of flowers and friendship is running high. It’s also February at last and the sunshine this week has definitely made up for the freezing conditions.
In this week’s newsletter, I share 6 things on my mind (celebrating snowdrop season to how I fake my glow, a new tell-all book about the menopause, an easy mid-week healthy supper recipe, and a fascinating podcast about charisma; plus all the outfits I wore in Nashville). 1. Snowdrop Magic
It’s snowdrop season! Snowdrops signify hope and the purity and the gentle shape of the beauties popping up all over the countryside and green city spaces, are just the kind of hope-on-the-horizon-spring-on-its-way joy we need! I often dig a clump of them out of the ground, bring them in, let them do their magic and replant them again outside but this year, my back is saying no to digging and I’ve allowed myself to pick a few single stems! I love arranging them in tiny bowls (in our Romanian wavy bowl would be gorgeous) using a flower frog hidden under a gorgeous, little mossy duvet. Let me know how you get on…
2. How I fake my glow
I cannot tell you how many people have stopped me in the last couple of weeks to say “you’re glowing!’’ I couldn’t feel less glowy if I tried. I am tired, jet lagged, pale and desperate for Spring! So faking my glow has been a happy accident that I felt I must share. One of my besties gave me this Chanel magic highlighting fluid for Christmas. I’m not sure what the makers suggest doing with it but I’ve started adding one pump to my everyday foundation (Mac’s Face and Body in C2). I then just smooth all over my face every morning and the glow appears to hit in all the right places.
3. Posies & Stripes for a spring in your step
This week we launched our new Posie decorative tray set and relaunched our stripey vases! Two colours, two sizes, endless flowering and home pottering opportunities await. Also, the best possible Valentines and Mother’s Day gifts. Don’t forget to drop hints for you!
